How to boot xp over network.?
I’m trying to load XP onto a machine with a failed DVD ROM. Have tried using different ROM and have been told that some convertor on the board is gone and my machine will never read discs anymore. This is not an issue except for the fact that I cannot load XP now. The BIOS supports usb and network boot. have tried the usb route and failed. How do I boot over a network.

How the heck do u plan on booting a machine over a network that cant be in a network because it has NO OPERATING SYSTEM !
you will need to use a bootable media device such as a external CD or dvd drive . however if your board is bad . wouldn’t it be a far better idea to replace the freaking board .. naaaa that would just make to much sense

did u copy the winxp cd to the usb stick? that should work. the only way to boot from network in thru pxe boot. you must have a server or pc on your network to answer the request for files. that should point u in the general direction…
