Demonstration of Puppy Linux Dingo 4.0
Specs on the machines:
Thinkpad 600X (P3-533 with ~512MB)
Dynex Wireless PCMCIA card
Thinkpad 760EL (P-133 with 64MB)
no USB, serial/parallel ports,
BIOS does not support booting from CDROM drive.
I demonstrate wireless connectivity and playback of a music video from youtube with the 600X.. Puppy Linux instantly recognized my card, and found my router, hooking up to router was very easy.
On the second machine, I just demonstrate a graphics program, as I wasn’t able to connect to the Internet, nor anything else of significance. I have a zip drive somewhere, and could have used that, but if I was desperate, maybe I could get it to work.
The program used to boot the 760EL, since it’s bios doesn’t support booting from anything other than floppies (which I didn’t have a drive for), and Hard drives, note it does support booting from a network (a feature that isn’t popular these days).. But I had to look around for a program that would permit me to boot from a cdrom, the program I found is:
Smart Boot Manager
Google it.. Or go here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/btmgr/
You can use Smart Boot Manager to boot any operating system, even windows install disks.. So its a good thing to have especially if you have an old BIOS.

Booting OpenSolaris Developer Preview from USB stick
Booting Indiana, OpenSolaris Developer Preview from USB stick in my Thinkpad X40. Took two minutes (almost three from HDD) to boot with this method. The installed search and mount any ZFS pool available in the hard disk. Also NWAM is ready to connect to any wireless network available. ZFS, DTrace and nice desktop out of the box. This is amazing for the opensource community!
Sorry for the quality, this one is recored with my Treo 680

Windows XP WIM Deployment on Asus EeePC Part 1
This is the first test of the Windows XP WIM deployment package ( http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=22298 ); unfortunately I SERIOUSLY messed up the installation scripts prior to install and had to actually figure out what went wrong during the video
Quite funny, but not a true representation of what installing it is like. Check the “Final” video (not part 2) I posted for the true 10 minute experience
